Ways of Being: An Exploration of Belonging

Exploring the enduring theme of belonging, ancestry, culture and connection: to self, to other, to place, as expressed through the ancient art of weaving.
The works invite viewers to consider connections to a sense place, to self and to other, and reflection upon what belonging means to them.
Fibres and threads speak through the artist to create through lines of ancestral and weaving technique linage – as the artists hands work the fibres, their stories of connection to place and people becomes visible.
Works and stories are interconnected to express the rich cultural history of
various peoples who call the Northern Rivers region home.
