Everyone is welcome to the free opening event on Saturday June 13 at 10.30am at the Roxy Gallery. Come along, meet the artists, and reflect on what belonging means to you.

Presented by Playing with Fibre A new exhibition at the Roxy Gallery, Ways of Being: an Exploration of Belonging brings together artists – Deb Jorgenson, Justin Telfer, Kay Williams, Kyra Togo, Marama Hopkins, Penina Welsh, Sue Connor, and Rebecca O’Connell – to explore questions of belonging. How we belong. Where we belong.

Running from June 13 to July 19, the exhibition features fibre artists from the Northern Rivers whose works invite viewers to consider connections to a sense place, to self and to others, and to reflection upon what belonging means to them.

As the artists hands have worked threads, through lines of ancestral and weaving technique linage have been created. Stories of connection to place and people becomes visible. The artworks and stories are interconnected, weaving together the rich cultural history of some of the diverse people in the region we call home.
